Missing something? Horary can find it.

People often need help in finding something that is missing. Remember, horary charts need an emotional investment of a real dilemma or a sincere 'need to know' something. If a person has exhausted their usual methods of trying to find what is missing, and is concerned by the loss of it, the horary chart can first identify if it is recoverable and if so, can help locate it. There are practitioners of this method that even specialize in finding missing people. I have been utterly amazed at seeing some of those charts and reading the stories/judgements.

Recently I lost my car keys (not uncommon for me!) and I looked every place that I could think of. I looked in all the "usual" places I seem to lose them in, to no avail. I needed to get to an appointment and was upset that I might be late, should I not be able to locate them. I was emotionally invested in this, and had tried my best to find, so I now knew I could cast a chart that would give me guidance.

In this chart I only included, so it is easier for you to see, the important significators (planets) involved.

First, since I asked the question I am represented by House #1 and the ruler of that house which is Venus (placed in 10th house). Second, I used Mercury as the natural ruler of keys and it is placed in Virgo in the 11th house. Third, the moon is included as it is always important in every chart; kind of like a "modem" giving information about the situation. Fourth, the Sun is included as it is a "luminary" and sheds light & illumination on the information.

Before one can look for something, one must know if it is recoverable. I knew right away that the keys certainly were able to be found because the Sun and Moon are in the top half of the chart which is the visible part of the chart. Supporting this was the fact that the Moon was coming into a trine aspect with the Ascendent and is making an applying aspect to Venus (me). Additionally, Mercury (the keys) was in exact sextile aspect to the 2nd house cusp. Mercury (keys) is retrograde which indicates things will return.

I did note that Mercury (keys) was in exact conjunction with the Sun; it is "combust" and this means, in this application, that the keys could be well hidden! They are being obscured.

Mercury is in Virgo and Virgo locations include: studies, offices, baskets, storage areas and drawers. This 11th house of Virgo is associated with the direction of southwest.

With this information I started to look again. I knew the keys were in my house so I went to the southwest area of my home, which is the kitchen. From there I looked in some drawers (indicated by Virgo placement). I reminded myself that the keys wouldn't be readily visible to me due to Mercury being combust by the sun.

Within a few minutes I found the keys in a drawer I often put them in! I missed them when I initially looked for them as they were somewhat hidden, obscured, by an item that somehow was lying on top of them.

The horary chart and the symbolism contained within it was spot on! Interesting as well is that one can glean timing of things from the chart. I saw that the Moon and Mercury were separated by 4 degrees, so I believed it would be in 4 "units of time" that I would find my keys. I knew it wouldn't be days, weeks, months... and, lo and behold, it took me about 4 minutes to find the keys once I analyzed the chart.

For those interested, here is the full chart with all elements included.
