I like to show real life examples from known figures in order to demonstrate the powerful information contained within the combination of Birthday/Vedic Astrology. From the moment of our birth there exists a map, a blueprint of our potential gifts and challenges that we are meant to navigate through in our life.

Here is the full chart of Albert Einstein, from which the small example above was taken from. While this looks quite complicated, which it is (!), we can look at certain key indicators that offers profound information. To understand your "Birth Card" - the card that governs the day you were born, you really need to see the whole "hand" associated with it to give you information on how your life plays outs; how life unfolds. The various groupings of cards give information on various aspects of your life, which is explained below.
Indications of the boxed groupings:
The green circle shows the card born under for the day of birth - what needs to do in this life to feel satisfied and successful. Einstein is a 9 Diamonds person which immediately tells us that his life is about coming to terms with his value and learning to share; getting over their personal desires. If not, this person can experience disappointment in the things they might "value" such as money, possessions. 9 Diamonds people are often quite smart and have home lives that suffer (they have 4 Hearts - stability in matters of the heart- in a difficult position - which I did not encircle on above image).
The royal blue rectangular box shows specific, concrete timing cards with information on what are you assets, what makes you feel secure, what problems/frustration you have, where in life you feel lucky and where you have difficulties.
The magenta rectangular box shows the path to one's psychological INNER development. Where does one get "stuck" in life on a deep level? If someone to write a book about their life it is these cards that tell of the big things, the difficulties we experience, sometimes over and over, until we master them. The hold the deep attitude one has towards life and what is the ultimate goal in the life of your soul?
The red circle shows the path of patient and enduring activity you will find yourself on in life. This is the card most people see in you.
And, the bottom three cards tells what energizes your life; brings new things out in you, what you transmute/transform, and where does your ego get destroyed?
Albert Einstein had a brilliant, disciplined mind and this potential is clearly indicated from his moment of birth. (it is clearly seen in his writing sample...)
Also indicated is the high potential for divorce, or separation from love. Einstein was married twice. First to a student and then to his cousin and his marriages were marred with affairs.
The image below is taken from the Soul LIFE Spread of a person I personally know, who is almost 50 years old. She, I always believed, had a perfect marriage to a wonderful man. I was always puzzled as I knew she had this indicator, just like Einstein did, for separation/divorce from love/marriage. The orange arrow and circle pointing to the number 9 indicate that the information from these cards/planets will play out in the 9th house of the astrological chart. In Vedic (Hindu) astrology the 9th house associations include that of "marriage."
This following image is the spread for the same woman at age 48. (48th "quadration" of the cards; each year we get a new quadration just like we have a natal return chart.)
Interesting that this is a 9 Diamonds person just like Einstein. (The birthdays governed by 9 Diamonds are: January 18, February 16, March 14, April 12, May 10, June 8, July 6, August 4, September 2). So, while these 2 people share the same lessons/potentials that their souls incarnated for, and have the same karmas to play out, it is their planetary placements in the chart that brings things to life - specific to the person.
Items to note:
5 hearts ("divorce" card or working on matters of heart/emotional emergency) in the 7th position associated with Saturn or lessons. (Read cards right to left; #1 is Queen Diamonds, #2 is 3 Hearts, etc.). When I saw this I knew she was in emotional difficulty around her marriage this year.
3 Hearts in the second, "moon" position. This is the card of trying things out relating to the heart - or, possible "affair."
7 Clubs in 8th position tells that the challenge for her this year is overwhelming situations; feeling like life is falling apart around her and extreme challenges. This indicates it is time for something in her life to end in order for her to grow. Once she does this, if she does it, then the result will be the Ace Diamonds (9th card) which indicates she will find new value in herself. (cards 8,9 are our inner psychological development)
So, in just looking at the few cards I discussed above, though I do not know the specifics of what is going on as she is very private and doesn't want to share, I do know at age 48 (she will be 50 next month) that this year something fell apart for her (7 clubs in position of her inner development) and she is no longer with her husband of many years (5 Hearts). Did she have an affair (3 Hearts)? Did he?
Below are her husbands' cards for this same period. He has the divorce card (5 Hearts) in a sensitive position as well; this card in this position tells that he is working on matters of the heart. He also has an Ace Hearts (new love) in the first position telling that this year, for him, he will have something new that he loves in his life. It doesn't necessarily mean another woman - it could mean a new passion he is developing - just something new to love. (Aces are new things springing forth. Hearts are love, passion; clubs are ideas, work; spades new way to deal with problems, diamonds are new skills). How very interesting the overlapping of card spreads in this husband and wife!
So, while Einstein and the woman discussed are two very different people, they both have the same soul lessons to learn, and different ways in which their lives will play out.
One of the best tools this card system offers is giving us insight into what the upcoming year(s) bring as well as looking back on our spreads to understand what life events we already navigated through. They each had the an indicator for "separation in love" (i.e. divorce) in their natal planets and they each have a difficult year for relations/emotions at age 48.
I thought I'd look ahead at the lady's cards for ages 50 & 51 to see what cards around love/relationships might hold for her.
At age 50 (birthday coming up this July) we can see that there is a lot going on in matters of the heart. The Jack of Hearts often indicates a new ways to love or demonstrate love. Being a face card it could possibly indicate a person coming into her life. Additionally, she has the 2 Hearts (union in love) card in a position that could indicate new love - but, this new love needs to be seen from the perspective that this isn't all that fulfills her. It would be needed to be seen from how can she appease the "hunger" within her without feeling like she "needs" it.
At age 51 she is running the King Hearts for the year (circled above). She is trying to have a mature attitude around love; make some mature decisions, an possibly some sacrifices in the matter. She also have the 5 Hearts in a position that indicates working on matters of love/heart. The 7 Hearts (card of endings/challenges/stress) in this position states her inner work is around developing a healthy relationship on a feeling level; learning to love and accept herself more. Something will end and it will be a time for a big breakthrough about herself.
Also note, though not circled, is that she has the 8 Spades - for both years - in the 10th position of "sustained/constant activity" which indicates she is going within herself to work out where her ego much be stuck; she is on path of developing a better relationship with herself.
So, not only do the cards tell us our gifts and challenges present from our birth, they also give information on the year at hand. We can look into our past and into our future to see what the potentials are for us!
